Monthly Guidance Lessons
SY 2017-2018
Once a month, the school counselor will teach a lesson to all K-5 students. Monthly topics include bullying, friendship, conflict resolution, etc.
September
Meet the School Counselor

Students learn the different roles and responsibilities of the school counselor and when they may need to see one.
Students are taught different ways to reach out to the school counselor such as asking the teacher, writing me a note, etc.
October
Bullying
​
Students are encouraged to take a stand against bullying. They are taught how to identify bullying, learn the different types of bullying, and what they can do about it.

November
Respect
​
Students are taught what it means to be respectful and how it looks like at home, school, and with friends. This lesson is a great reinforcer for one of our FAB 4 expectations.
